Senior Planner
HB&A is seeking a motivated, talented, and experienced senior planning professional and project manager to work on and lead project teams on federal planning projects from our offices in Colorado Springs, CO. Projects will be diverse, and may include area development plans, master plans, district plans, strategic facilities plans, facility utilization studies, project programming charrettes, project development and validation, and other products for federal agencies and other clients.
Required:
5-10 years experience working on federal master planning tasks and leading teams
Ability to provide supervision and management of project team.
Strong writing, editing, and planning document development skills.
Strong oral, presentation, and group facilitation skills useful in a charrette or workshop context
Familiarity with Department of Defense land use, planning, and programming principles, standards, and processes (e.g. Area Development Plans, District Plans, Installation Development Plans, DD Form 1391 preparation, etc.)
Willingness to learn and “pitch-in” in a dynamic small-business environment
Willingness to travel (approximately 12 times per year)
Desired:
Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture
Familiarity with use of Geographic Information Systems in planning projects
Graphics and visualization skills
AICP Certification
