Sijan Hall Findings & Recommendations Report

United States Air Force Academy, CO

Sijan Hall, a seven-story, 625,300 SF structure, is one of two cadet dormitories housing 1,964 Cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy. HB&A was tasked with providing a Findings and Recommendations Report (F&R) that identified and assessed all areas that required improvements and upgrades to bring all deficient elements up to current code and USAFA Design Standards.

The F&R Report contains a summary of the investigation and data gathering process of the design team; it documents existing conditions; presents recommended alterations; and contains an estimate of probable cost delineated per construction phase. The F&R report is an overview analysis of all components of the building; and provides justification with enough detail to outline preliminary design and construction requirements. The F&R estimate of probable cost provides sufficient detail and accuracy to ensure a reliable programming budget for all seven phases of construction over a ten year time period.
